Crofts, Matthew Henry

Crofts, Matthew Henry an English Baptist minister, was born at Upton, Northamptonshire, in 1801. He was converted at twenty-nine years of age, at once began to preach, notwithstanding his defective education, and in 1834 became pastor in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, where he remained until 1852. He then removed to Andover, Hants Co., and was pastor there till his death, February 20, 1856. See (Lond.) Baptist Handbook, 1856, page 46. (J.C.S.)
