Cowles, Chauncey Demming

Cowles, Chauncey Demming a Congregational minister, was born at Farmington, Connecticut, June 27, 1812. He graduated from Yale College in 1834; studied theology at Yale Divinity School for two years (183840), and was ordained, June 10, 1841, pastor of the Congregational Church in Plainville, where he continued for two years. He then retired from the ministry and removed to Buffalo, N.Y., where he engaged in manufacturing until 1853. He died at his native place, January 12, 1881.
