Communion-table

Communion-Table a table on which the sacramental bread and wine are placed for the communion in Protestant churches. At the Reformation, stone altars were rejected, as likely to support the notion of a material sacrifice, against, which the Reformers protested. SEE ALTAR; SEE LORDS SUPPER.
