Clarkson, David (2)

Clarkson, David (2), a Protestant Episcopal minister, was born in Worcestershire, England, in- June, 1801. He graduated at Oxford University; came to America in 1823; was ordained by bishop Doane, and became rector of Trinity Parish, Belvidere, N. J., officiating also in several neighboring place. From 1852 to 1855 he was chaplain in the United States Army, and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. In the winter of 1855 he was pastor at Lexington, Mo., and in 1860 he removed to Grand Rapids, Mich., where he died, April 6, 1862. See Amer. Quar. Church Rev. 1862, p. 735.
