Chenowith, Alfred Griffith

Chenowith, Alfred Griffith, a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born near Winchester, Va., Feb. 9, 1809. He was converted at the age of twenty; after studying four years received license to preach; and in 1834 was admitted into the Baltimore Conference, in which he labored with zeal and fidelity until 1855, when he was transferred to the North-west Indiana Conference. In it he continued his diligent and faithful service until his sudden death, April 25,1864. Mr.
