Chauncey, Peters, Dd

Chauncey, Peters, D.D., a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was a graduate of the General Theological Seminary, New York city. For ten years he was rector of Christ Church, Rye, N.Y.; became rector of Christ Church, Hartford, Conn., in 1848, and removed to St. James's. New York city, in 1850, of which parish he was rector until his death, Dec. 14, 1866, aged fifty-six. See Prof. Episc. Almanac, 1868. p. 104; Amer. Quar. Church -Rev. April, 1867, p. 153.
