Charpentier, Pierre Francois

Charpentier, Pierre Francois (called Pierre Etienne and Firanfois Philippe), a French engraver in aquatinta, was born at Bois in 1739. Some of his principal plates are, The Education of the Virgin; The Descent from the Cross. See Spooner, Biog. Hist. of the Fine Arts, s.v.
