Chardon (De Lugny), Zacharie

Chardon (De Lugny), Zacharie, a French theologian, was born in 1643. His family was Protestant, but when quite young he became one of the pages of Louis XIV, and Bossuet effected his conversion to Catholicism.. Chardon took orders, and was attached to the parish church of St. Sulpice. He died June 23, 1733, leaving, Traite de la Religion Chretieznne (Paris, 1697, 2 vols. 12mo):- Recueil des Fulsifications que les 1Ministres de Geneve ont Faites de l'Ecriture Sainte (ibid. 1707, 12mo) : -Nouvelle Mithode pour Refuter l'Etablissement des Eglises Psretendues Regbrmees (ibid. 1731, 12mo):- Remarques Historiques sur l'Eglise de St. Sulpice (published in the Journal des Savants, 1697, p. 179).
