Cell, Jeremiah

Cell, Jeremiah a Baptist minister, was born in Western Pennsylvania, April 13, 1819. He joined a Presbyterian Church in Ohio in 1839, and a Baptist Church in 1846. Soon after, he began to preach. He studied for a time at Covington, Ky., preaching meanwhile for the Church in Newport. Subsequently he served churches in Aurora, Ind., two years; Ebenezer, eight years; Momence, Ill., two years; Galesburg, Mich., three years; a second time in Aurora, then Greensboro, Ind., from 1864 to 1866; recalled to Galesburg, then went to Centralia, Ill., six years; returned to Greensboro in the spring of 1874, in which year he died.
