Canisius (or Cannius), Hendrik

Canisius (Or Cannius), Hendrik, a Dutch theologian, was born at Bois-le-Duc in 1594. He joined the religious order of the Hermits of St. Augustine, and became successively prior of the convents of Tenremonde, of Tirlemont; and then of Maestricht. He died March 4, 1689.
