Canides

Canides was a hermit in the time of Theodosius the Great, who, as soon as he was baptized, ran away to a little grotto under a waterfall, where he lived seventy-three years, tasting no food but a few herbs. He died. according to Basil's Menology, June 10.-Smith, Dict. of Christ. Biog. s.v.
