Camp, Phineas

Camp, Phineas, a Presbyterian minister, was born at Durham, N.Y., Feb. 18,1788. He graduated at Union College in 1811, and spent over two years in Princeton Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the North River Presbytery in 1817, and spent a year as missionary in Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania. His first charge was Westfield, N.Y. (1819-22), and his next Lowville (1825-29), and afterwards he served at Denmark and Whitestown, N. Y., and Dixon, Ill. He died at the last-named place, Jan. 30, 1868. See Gen.
