Cambaceres, Tienne Hubert De

Cambaceres, Tienne Hubert De, a French prelate. was born at Montpellier, Sept. 11,1756. After entering holy orders he was rapidly promoted, being appointed archbishop of Rouen in 1802, and eventually to the cardinalate. He refrained from talking part in the French Revolution, but, later, was active for a time in political affairs. He died Oct. 25, 1828. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
