Bustami

Bustami was a Mohammedan mystic in the 9th century of our era, who taught that the recognition of our personal existence was idolatry. He was a pantheist, and held that man is absorbed in God; and when he worships God he worships himself. See Gardner, Faiths of the World, s.v.
