Brooke, James

Brooke, James an English Wesleyan minister, was born at Bilston, May 24, 1790, and died at Cheetham Hill, July 25, 1881. His ministry extended over nearly sixty- nine years, the last thirty of which were spent in comparative retirement.

The simplicity of his spirit and the purity of his life declared plainly that "the path of the just is as the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." See Minutes of the British Conference, 1881, page 53.
