Brooke, George Gibson

Brooke, George Gibson a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Faulquier County, Virginia, about 1808. He was favored with the watchful care of a pious mother, who brought him to Christ in his youth. When about twenty years of age he was licensed to preach, and received into the Baltimore Conference, wherein he labored faithfully until his death, December 8, 1878. Mr. Brooke served as chaplain in the Confederate army during the rebellion. His ministry was crowned with success. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M.E. Church South, 1879, page 9.
