Brocklehurst, William (1)

Brocklehurst, William (1), an English Wesleyan minister, was born at Hollingsclough, near Leek, Staffordshire, June 5, 1784. He united with the Church at the age of fourteen, entered the ministry in 1808, retired from its active duties to London in 1849, and died July 4, 1866. He was a plain, earnest preacher, considerate and faithful pastor, and was ever active, and often successful, in labor for the Lord. See Minutes of the British Conference, 1866, page 37.
