Brand

Brand in Zec 3:2, אוּד, ud, a wooden poker for stirring the fire, hence a burnt piece of wood or firebrand (as rendered elsewhere, Isa 7:4; Am 4:11); in Jg 15:4 (ver. 5 "fire-brand"), a lamp or torch, as elsewhere rendered. On the practice of brandingslaves (Re 13:16), SEE MARK.
