Botanomancy

Botanomancy (βοτάνη, an herb, and μαντεῖον a prophecy), divination by means of plants. It was practiced among the ancient Greeks by writing one's name on herbs and leaves, and then exposing them to the winds; and as many letters as remained were placed together in a word or words, which formed the answer to the inquiry. SEE DIVINATION.
