Black, John Robert

Black, John Robert a Reformed Presbyterian minister, was born at Pittsburg, Pa., in 1819. He graduated at the Western University in 1840, and studied theology partly under the direction of his father, and partly in the seminary of the Reformed Presbyterian Church at Philadelphia. He was licensed in 1843, and at the same time became pastor of the Third Reformed Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, where he was ordained and installed April 18, 1848, and remained until his death, Oct. 10, 1860.
