Bevan, Barbara

Bevan, Barbara a Welsh minister of the Society of Friends, was born in Trevrygg in 1682. She was converted at the age of sixteen, and soon after joined the Church and received a call to the ministry. She now devoted herself most zealously to her work in West Jersey, and some parts of East Jersey, where her. labors. were well received. For a time she was her father's companion in Christian work in Wales, travelling in 1704 about six hundred miles in the performance of his ministerial duties. Her life, which was so useful, wasa brief one, ending in great peace, Nov. 26, 1705. See, Piety Promoted, 2, 25, 26. (J. C. S.)
