Bennett, Charles E.

a clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal Church, was born in Rhode Island. His earlier years were devoted to the profession of music. Ordained by bishop Henshaw, he went to Crompton Mills under the direction of the Rhode Island Convocation. In the spring of 1849 he removed to Stonington, Conn., where he rendered gratuitous service to the rector of Calvary Church residing there. He died at Stonington, Conn., Jan. 26, 1850. See Amer.
