Benefice Collative

Benefice Collative is (1) a benefice of which the patron may freely dispose, the nomination not needing the confirmation of any superior authority. Most benefices collative are in the gift of the bishop of the diocese. (2.) Abenefice of that character to which a bishop is bound to give immediate institution, though in the gift of some independent patron.
