Beard (or Bearde), Thomas Dd

Beard (Or Bearde), Thomas D.D., an English divine and author of the Elizabethan period, became prebendary of Lincoln in 1612. He is best known as the compiler of the Theatre of God's Judgments (London, 1597). He published also, A Retracive from the Romish Religion (1616): — Antichrist the Pope of Rome (1625): Pedantius (1631). See Le Neve, Fasti, ii, 206; Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer. Authors, s.v.
