Bathurst, Henry

Bathurst, Henry LL.D., bishop of Norwich, England, was born in 1744, and was educated at Winchester and New College, Oxford.' He was made canon of Christ Church, Oxford, 1775; and bishop of Norwich, 1805. He died in London, 1837. His publications were few, consisting of Charges to his clergy, occasional Sermons, and a Letter to Wilberforce, 18. His Memoirs, by Archdeacon Bathurst, appeared in 1837, 2 vols. 8vo; with Supplement in 1842, 8vo. — Darling, Cyc. Bib. 1:202; Allibone, Dict. of Authors, 1:141.
