Bassinger, Sephrenus D

Bassinger, Sephrenus D., a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Springfield, N. Y., Jan. 27, 1802. He received a careful religious training; experienced conversion at the age of twenty; was class leader during the following ten years, when he was licensed to preach, and served the Church on several circuits, and in 1852 was sent to work among the Indians, on the Montello mission. In 1858 he was received into the West Wisconsin Conference, and did valiant work until his death, Aug. 31, 1864. Mr. Bassinger was a very laborious and successful minister.
