Barbosa (Machado), Ignacio

Barbosa (Machado), Ignacio a Portuguese ecclesiastic and historian, was born in Lisbon in 1586. He studied at Coimbra, went to Bahia as a judge, but on the death of his wife entered holy orders, and died in 1634, leaving a few religious works. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.; Rose, Gen.
