Bahil, Matthias, a Hungarian theologian, who lived near the latter half of the 18th century, translated the work of Cyprian upon the origin and progressive march of the papacy in Bohemia, for which he was persecuted. Being obliged to leave Hungary, he went to Bieg, where he published his history and trials under the title Traurige Abbildung der Protestantean in Ungarn (1747). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
