Babcock, Samuel a Methodist Episcopal minister, who in the early days of Methodism entered the itinerancy withinn tlie bounds. ot the Pittsburgh Conference, and did valiant service until his death. ini 1864' or 1865. Mir. Babcock was characterized as a preacher by earnestness and pathos, and-his efforts were blessed with many extensive revivals. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1865, p. 28.
