Avaran

Av'aran (Αὐαράν, Josephus Αὐράν, Ant. 12, 6,1; Vulg. Auram and Abaron; prob. of Arabic derivation, see Grimm, in loc.), an epithet of Eleazar, the brother of Judas Maccabaeus (1 Maccabees 2:5).
