Ash'dodite (Heb. in the plur. with the art. haAshdodim', הָאִשׁדּוֹדִים; Sept. omits, but some copies have Α᾿ζώτιοι, Vulg. Azot i, A.V. "the Ashdodites"), the inhabitants (Ne 4:7 [Heb. 1]) of ASHDOD SEE ASHDOD (q.v.).
