Armstrong, William (3)

a Protestant Episcopal clergyman. His ordination occurred in 1819; and his first parish was St. Matthew's, Wheeling, Va., having succeeded his father, Rev. John Armstrong, who was the first rector of the parish. After serving twenty-two years in Wheeling, he resigned his charge, and became rector of Zion parish, Urbanna, Frederick Co., Md.,. where he died, April 15, 1857, aged fifty-eight, beloved and regretted by all who knew him.
