Archbold, Israel a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Harrison County, Va., Nov. 24, 1807. He received a careful religious training; experienced religion at the age of twenty; was licensed to preach in 1834; and in 1835 united with the Pittsburgh Conference. Between 1846 and 1852 he held a superannuated relation. He made several attempts to resume the active work, but his health forbade; and he died May 18,1859.
