Allen, William (3)

Allen, William (2), a Baptist minister, was born in Maine about the year 1780. He received a license to preach from the Church in Columbia, and not long after received a call from the First Church in Jefferson, of which he was ordained pastor in 1809. During the long period of twenty-seven years he was the devoted and faithful minister of this church, his pastorate closing with his death in 1836.
