Alexians

Alexians or "Brethren and Sisters of St. Alexius," so called from their patron saint, Alexius, said to have been a Roman senator of the fifth century, who gave up the world for a life of poverty and celibacy. They were also called CELLITES SEE CELLITES , and a fuller account of them will be found under that title.
