Alarcon, Alfonso De

Alarcon, Alfonso de a Spanish ecclesiastic of the 17th century. He was canon of Ciudad Rodrigo, secretary of Francis de Alarcon, and bishop of Pampeluna. He compiled a large number of poetic writings, on the occasion of the death of Martin Suarez of Alarcon, killed at the siege of Barcelona, entitled Corona Sepulcral; Elogios en la Muerte de D. Martin Suarez de Alarcon, Hijo Primoginito del Marques de Trocifal, Conde de Torres Vedras, Escritos por DiJerentes Plumas, Sacados d Luz, etc. (Madrid, 1652). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
