Ackeret, John

Ackeret, John, a German Reformed minister, was born, Feb. 22, 1824, in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. He was licensed to preach by the Columbiana Classis, Synod of Ohio, in 1849, and began the work of the ministry the following year at Mt. Eaton, Ohio. He was an active and efficient worker in the German Reformed Church of America up to the time of his death, Sept. 13, 1869. See Harbaugh, Fathers of the Germ. Ref. Church, 4, 404.
