Achillas (2)

Achillas (2), one of the Alexandrian clergy, a friend and partisan of Arius, with whom he was excommunicated, about 319. Contemporaries speak of him as a prime mover of Arianism. Jerome (Adv. Lucif. XX, 2, 193) calls him a "lector;" while others speak of him as deacon and presbyter.
